As Ireland’s leading IT disposal provider, AMI has been providing secure IT retirement and electronic recycling and remarketing services since 2001. In that time we have celebrated a number of significant milestones and business achievements, from securing numerous industry accreditations and certifications to successfully running our first GDPR seminar and returning €2 million to our clients through the resale of their old IT equipment. AMI will also mark a number of additional milestones in 2018, including 10 years in business in the Republic of Ireland and 10 years of DiskShred, our on-site IT shredding service provider.
The May 25th GDPR deadline is fast approaching and is set to shake up how organisations collect and process data. To help businesses with their final preparations, AMI recently held a special GDPR lunchtime seminar in the Merchant Hotel, Belfast which was attended by more than 130 people. We’ve put together a recap of what was an informative, insightful and truly engaging event.
GDPR enforcement is just around the corner and will have a dramatic effect on how organisations collect and process data, and how they dispose of end-of-life IT equipment. This seminar will cut through the jargon and share some practical ideas on how to be prepared.
Date: Thursday, February 22nd 2018
Time: 12:30 – 14:30

So, it’s that time of the year again. Christmas may be a distant memory but it’s the start of a brand new year and many of us are thinking about the little things we would like to do to make 2018 even better than 2017.
With Halloween just around the corner, there’s a chill in the air. Things go bump in the night, and people are nervous about what might be lurking in dark alleys or even under their bed. Things might be getting scarier as the evenings get darker, but do yourself a favour this year and forget about ghosts, goblins, zombies and vampires, and instead be afraid of the effect that a data breach could have on your organisation…
GDPR is set to come into force in less than eight months’ time, and will have a dramatic effect on how organisations collect and process data, and how they dispose of end-of-life IT equipment. Attendees will receive an overview of the legal requirements of GDPR and the obligations they need to fulfil in the next seven months.
Date: Thursday, November 23rd 2017
Time: 7:30am – 9:30am
Venue: Fitzwilliam Hotel, Dublin 2.
We recently revealed the results of our 2017 security survey, which was carried out in association with TechPro magazine. 137 senior IT decision makers across a range of industries took part in the survey, and the results present an interesting snapshot of companies’ approach to the disposal of their old IT assets.
We want your insight into how organisations are disposing of their end-of-life IT…
Take our survey (now closed) and you could win a voucher for Ireland’s Blue Book for a weekend away for two in a location of your choosing! The growth in data volumes is accelerating rapidly, and the increasing threat of cyber-crime means that companies are more conscious than ever before of the information security measures that they should have in place to protect their assets.
AMI is delighted to announce that it has been shortlisted for a top award at the prestigious Tech Excellence Awards 2017. AMI was shortlisted for Vertical Market Specialist of the Year for demonstrating excellence in the area of secure IT retirement.
AMI was assessed by an expert panel of judges on a number of criteria, including its ability to help clients avoid harmful data leaks, its use of innovative and technologically advanced equipment and processes, and its ability to generate a new revenue stream for businesses.
